Thanks all.
Got some shots early yesterday with the new camera and I’m really impressed. Need slightly better conditions to give the superzoom a proper chance to show what it can do. Or not.

I’m sure the TZ90 would have done a fine job on most of the shots where the extra zoom wasn’t needed but the moon was a bit too much for it.
I love them both, the TZ90 literally comes everywhere with me (apart from the gym) and it’s tiny size makes it ideal for that purpose. The Z82 will be coming with me a lot when I don’t need to do other things (like shopping) where rucksack space is needed more than a second camera.
Ed, I know what you mean about settings. Tons of them and some cancel out others so it’s certainly a learning curve. Thanks for the authors name, I’ll see how I go and then maybe check him out.
Thanks Dave.
Had a few minutes to try the new Z82 today, really impressed so far, even though I couldn’t get through all the settings to enable iZoom, the ‘SuperZoom’ feature. It’s a blend of optical and digital zoom which apparently enables the same result as a 120X optical zoom. I’ll wait and see.
Finally got the SuperZoom enabled, try and get some shots tomorrow.

Sully island this afternoon.
I’ve now ordered a bridge camera, I love my little TZ90 but I was lured by the even better zoom of the Panasonic Z82.
Bagged one from Amazon, as new for £210.
As an aside the Integrated Autism Service in Penarth have 2 of my photos on one of their walls, both shot on the TZ90, that mum and I paid for as a thank you for all the help (past and future) that they supply. I’m chuffed that they thought them good enough to actually put in probably the most viewed location in the place. The plant was dumped by a cleaner doing her rounds and I had an appointment so no chance for another shot.

Thanks Richard.
My surgery is one of the ones in this area that have a ‘fast track’ physio service available at the largest surgery in the area, more like a small hospital. It’s only for people that can’t wait more than a few days, like me.
If it gets so bad I can’t use my crutches I’m in a right pickle.
My rarely used X220 is going through the update process now. Taking an age.
I forgot how slow the updates can be on Windoze, Chrome OS is as quick, if not quicker than an Android upgrade.
I’ve now managed to knacker my left shoulder doing nothing unusual. 🙁
GP reckons it’s a shoulder impingement and I’m seeing a physio on Tuesday.
Have a good one
Ditto
Good work Lee, really like the viewed/not viewed tick/cross icons.
Strictly speaking it should be Z.
Does it matter? No, as long as you use the same rules when sorting it out.
Newport isn’t that dark!
Oh, it can be.
IIRC you like your booze, next time you’re there pop into Bwrw Cwrw in the Newport Arcade, lots of good stuff, some really expensive. While you’re there pop into Freestyle, the skateboard shop next door. My mate , the owner , is a one off .
Can get a new tattoo upstairs if you want.
New Years eve I had a call from the GP, a response from the dermatology specialists had come through way quicker than anyone expected, especially at this time of year.
They recommended ditching the steroid cream I had and try another cream, Mometasone Furoate, and carry on with all the other stuff. Also wear gloves when doing any thing like washing up, putting detergent in the washing machine, washing the car, so on and so forth.
They gave a time frame of 6-8 weeks to see real improvements. I’ll also be seen in the dermatology outpatients when possible. So maybe this time next year…… 🙄
Hope everyone has a cracking new year, if it’s been a bit shite, may it get a lot better, if it’s been good then more of the same.
Monday if you’re lucky. This time of year things are messed up.
If you get really stuck hit me up, I’m sure we can sort something out. I will be mildly inebriated after about 5pm so sooner rather than later.
Main thing is that you made it through.
Get well soon.
Went to Porthcawl yesterday morning, took mum and her fella, to see the loons doing the charity Christmas swim.
Lovely morning but as soon as the sun got hidden by clouds it got cold quick.

If you zoom in tight on the above you can see ‘santa’ in the coastguard helicopter.
That was a lucky shot with my little Panasonic TZ-90, full zoom and couldn’t see a thing because of the sun reflecting of the screen.
I had some nice Whisky, can’t provide the details as it’s at mum’s, somewhere. 🤔
Had some money which was unexpected so ordered some Lego Speed Champions sets which I wouldn’t normally buy, too expensive for my compulsion of having at least 2 of every set, one to build, one to hide away. Arrive tomorrow. 😁
Also had some SuperDry wash/grooming type stuff in a bag from the extended family, which I can’t use because of my skin issues, brother will use them when he comes for new years.

Loot from the Christmas raffle at the Legion. 😀
I don’t add much salt to stuff but I do like Marmite. They now have a reduced salt version, blue lid and label edge, and I can’t taste the difference. Some people need more salt than others, like Ed said.
A few years ago I helped this bloke get from the edge of Cardiff to the edge of Barry, I would have taken him much further but I had family commitments. He needs to consume 4 times as much salt as a ‘normal’person as that’ what his sweat contains. Almost literally salt with everything.
Fair play to Argos, the refund has landed!
I’ll leave it a while to see if I need the B525, something else or if the Nexus 5 does the job.
